Unperfect Garden

This side of Eden, nothing is perfect… especially my veggie garden.

About July 27, 2011

I grow and eat veggies in Central Indiana and have been doing so (the growing part) since 2007. My first garden memory is of my mom sending me out to the garden with a red Tupperware container to pick tomatoes or green beans. All the plants were taller than me.

I do my best to stay organic (though a little RoundUp usually finds its way along the outer fence line) since I enjoy snacking while I weed, and I’ve recently been exploring heirloom seeds. The more plants I grow, the more I try to figure out how to use all this produce, so this site will include some crafts and recipes in addition to the garden “how-tos,” experiments, successes, and failures.

In my non-gardening time, I teach computer classes and composition at a nearby college, play with my puppies, camp with my husband, and Zumba with my sister. And often I read, and sometimes I write. Thanks for stopping by.

    Hello Jill,
Thanx for subscribing to my blog Some Damn Fine Picturestories. Like you I just started out and I’m still exploring thing blog experience.
I’m not into gardening, but nevertheless I like reading about people’s passions. Your avatar picture made me wonder about the fruits in the background. I thought they where some kind of huge pears, but they turned out to be gourds. Some humble advice: ad a subcribe option to your blog.
Have a nice day. It’s raining here in the Netherlands, hope the weather in Indiana is better.
